Ngorongoro conservation area, the large collapsed volcano and its spectacular setting and abundance of wildlife makes it one of the world wonders, not just you will be in the crater but also the one described among the eight wonders of the world.
It is a conservation area meaning the area is for both the animals and local Maasai people who graze their cattle alongside the indigenous wildlife. In the crater is the home of the big 5 Elephants, buffalo, Leopard, Black Rhino and lions.
Trip Outline
Enjoy a full-day tour from Arusha that takes you on a safari in the Ngorongoro Crater. During the game drive in the caldera you’ll be on the lookout for a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards and the rare black rhino.
Itineraries
After breakfast you’ll drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. This day trip gives you the opportunity to visit the world-famous site that’s been nicknamed the eighth wonder of the world.
Once you have reached the Ngorongoro gate, approximately from Arusha, you will descend into the crater for a 5-hour game drive. As well at home to the black rhino, the crater is also home to elephants, zebras, wildebeests, buffalos and impalas. Carnivores that inhabit the crater include lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and smaller cats.
